The brief
About Nexis.
Nexis is a UK property management and lettings company providing end-to-end services for landlords across Manchester, Birmingham and London. With over 10 years' experience, £540 million of property under management and more than 1,000 lets agreed each year, they combine local expertise, market-leading technology and a trusted network of partners to help both UK and overseas landlords protect and maximise their investments.
What Nexis wanted to achieve.
After more than a decade without a major brand refresh, Nexis recognised that their identity no longer reflected the scale, professionalism or ambition of the business.
Operating in one of the UK's most competitive property sectors, they needed a brand that could confidently sit alongside the biggest names in the industry whilst better representing the level of service they deliver.
The challenge was made even more interesting by the fact that the business serves two distinct audiences. On one side, landlords and investors looking for expert property management. On the other, tenants searching for their next home. The new brand needed to feel unmistakably Nexis whilst allowing both sides of the business to communicate with their audiences in the right way.
Getting the project off the ground.
Like every branding project we deliver, we started with strategy rather than design.
Although this was a rebrand, we went right back to the beginning, taking the time to understand the business, its ambitions and how each side of the company worked together. We explored what was already working within the existing brand, what had become outdated, and where there was opportunity to evolve rather than reinvent.
Working closely with the team allowed us to build a clear creative direction from the outset, ensuring that what we presented back wasn't just visually stronger, but genuinely worked for the business, its customers and its future growth.
What we delivered.
We delivered a complete brand refresh that modernised the Nexis identity whilst respecting the equity the business had built over the previous decade.
The existing red and gold colour palette had become synonymous with the brand, particularly amongst their overseas client base, so rather than replacing it, we evolved it. We expanded the palette to give the brand far greater flexibility across digital and print, whilst refining the core colours to feel cleaner, more contemporary and premium.
Alongside this, we introduced updated typography, refined logos, new brand markers and a suite of supporting brand assets that gave the identity much more depth and consistency than ever before.
We also developed a flexible visual system that allowed the landlord and property management side of the business to feel distinct from the lettings side, whilst still clearly belonging to the same family. The result was a brand that could confidently communicate with different audiences without losing consistency.
What happened after the project.
The rebrand quickly evolved into a much wider partnership.
Following the launch of the new identity, we were asked to redesign and redevelop the Nexis website, ensuring their digital presence reflected the quality of the new brand and created a far stronger experience for both landlords and tenants.
From there, we went on to create new brochures, sales collateral, internal templates and branded documents, before continuing to support the team on a long-term retainer across CRM communications, social media and the ongoing rollout of the brand.
Rather than delivering a new identity and walking away, we helped embed the brand across every customer touchpoint, ensuring the business looked and felt consistent wherever people interacted with Nexis.
